 At least 17 people were killed when Taliban fighters attacked a group of civilian road workers in southern Afghanistan, according to the interior ministry.Sixteen other workers were wounded on Tuesday in Zabul province, about 300km southwest of capital Kabul, the ministry said. Bashary said that Afghan and international security forces had responded to the attacks, killing seven fighters and wounding 12.
