April 10, 2007 -- Serbia's war crimes court today sentenced four former paramilitary fighters to prison terms ranging from five to 20 years for killing Bosnian civilians during the 1995 Srebrenica massacre.
A fifth defendant was acquitted.
The militiamen were charged after a video of the murders of six Muslim men and boys from Srebrenica was shown during the war crimes trial of former Yugoslav dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
The case is the first in Serbia concerning the massacre of some 8,000 Muslim boys and men in the UN-protected Srebrenica enclave.
